"Track Compass” by Cristy Anspach (2013)
My concept is based on tracks or footprints of humans and animals that played a main role in Sublette Countyʼs ranching heritage. Cowboy boot, horse, cattle and dog tracks combine into what at first glance might look simply like a decorative four-pointed floral motif. The design is reminiscent of a compass rose, and my hope is that cardinal directions would be taken into account when placing the final casting.
