"Pinecones” by Pat Plourde (2013)
This is a permanent exterior commission for our Ex:Site:3D project by Maine artist Pat Plourde. Pat was brought to Pinedale for a 10 day residency in August of 2013. He was provided materials, tools and a shop space to fabricate three large pinecone sculptures made from old shovel heads. The completed project consists of a single tall pinecone installed at the south side of the Sublette County Library, and a double pinecone on a stick currently installed next to Express Auto on the corner of Pine and Maybell in Pinedale. This project was funded by the Town of Pinedale, The Sublette County Library Board, and the Pinedale Fine Arts Council. Old shovels were donated by the Sublette County community.
