Project Overview
In|Site:Ex|Site/Pinedale is a comprehensive public arts program placing temporary and permanent works of art throughout the community of Pinedale, Wyoming. The works are sited in both interior and exterior public spaces. This program aims to enhance our community through dialog, education, and visibility of contemporary visual art as it applies to our west central Wyoming community of Pinedale. These projects take the form of temporary and permanent sculptures, murals, installations, ephemeral art, exhibitions, and educational lectures. We have the ability to partner with public, private, and non-profit organizations to realize their own public art visions. Supporting Wyoming and Sublette County artists is one of our priorities, however we also realize the importance of having artwork that reflects a national and international dialog. This not only enhances the stature of our public art programming, but also elevates the status of our Sublette County and Wyoming artists.

In|site:Ex|site includes, but is not limited to, the following individual projects, which are titled with derivations of the parent program name.

Ex|Site:Incubate/3D
A public art incubator project which consists of inviting artists to propose and fabricate a site informed public outdoor sculpture to be installed for up to 2 years. This project is conceived as a platform for (initially) Wyoming artists who have little or no experience in the public art commissioning process. The selection process is by invitation, through a portfolio review. The artist retains ownership of the work, and may exhibit or sell the work after the conclusion of the exhibition period. Should the artist sell the work, the artist reimburses the fabrication costs. This allows for the funding of future projects.

Ex|Site:Incubate/2D
A public art incubator project which consists of inviting artists to propose and execute a site informed public outdoor mural to be installed for up to 2 years. This project is conceived as a platform for (initially) Wyoming artists who have little or no experience in the public art commissioning process. The selection process is by invitation, through a portfolio review.

Ex|Site:365
A temporary rotating sculpture program which consists of contracting artists for existing outdoor friendly sculpture for one year. Like all of our public art projects, the work must reflect our community through a contemporary lens. Preference will be given to Wyoming and regional artists. The selection process is by invitation, through a portfolio review.

Ex|Site:3D
A permanent commissioned site-specific sculpture project. The selection process is by invitation, through a portfolio review. Budget, timelines, and the scope of the commission are unique to each project. This is a great project for partnering with other organizations or businesses.

Ex|Site:2D
A permanent commissioned site-specific mural project. The selection process is by invitation, through a portfolio review. Budget, timelines, and the scope of the commission are unique to each project. This, also, is a great project for partnering with other organizations or businesses.

Ex|Site:Cabochon
An annual artist designed medallion project. One artist per year (4 for 2013) will be chosen to design a 30” relief medallion, which will be produced in cast iron and permanently imbedded in a sidewalk(s) within the Pinedale community. This opportunity is open to artists/individuals of all ages who are permanent residents of Sublette County. The selection process will be by official entry form, which includes a space for a black and white design concept and explanation.

In|Site:Install
A public art incubator project which consists of inviting artists to propose, fabricate, and install a site informed interior installation in a public building for up to 1 year. This project is conceived as a platform for (initially) Wyoming artists who do not have experience in the public art commissioning process. The selection process is by invitation, through a portfolio review.

In|Site:Exhibit
An exhibition program showcasing Wyoming and regional contemporary artists. The selection process is through a curatorial and/or general call for entry.

Most projects will include a gallery talk, residency, or other educational opportunity.
