The Soundcheck Series features national touring acts performing live at American Legion Park in downtown Pinedale, Wyoming! The Soundcheck Series is one of the most popular music series in the Rocky Mountain West and all shows are free and kid/pet friendly.
Tae & The Neighborly, a Wisconsin based Soul-pop R&B group, found themselves playing music together in a very unconventional way. They were all neighbors, each one living alone on one floor of a five-story flat. Critics hail the group as “having more kick than a bagged-up mule” (Rotary Times) and their live show “...going down smoother than a can of [beans] warmed on the campfire” (Cowboy Gazette).
Opener Strumbucket is a five-piece "twang-funk" band from Jackson, Wyoming known for their colorful multi-genre live shows. Drawing from a wide range of sounds, their original music weaves together funked bass grooves, banjo driven twang, latin beats, electro-psych synth lines, and classic rock guitar. Listening to the group's offerings, one gets the sense that a good laugh is one piece of the puzzle that keeps the fun meter in check.
Originally from Lancaster, PA, Maya de Vitry is a Nashville-based songwriter, recording artist, producer, and instrumentalist whose music blurs the lines of country, folk, indie rock, and Americana. An admirer of the dedicated song craft of writers like John Prine, Gillian Welch, and Townes Van Zandt — and of the stirring vocals of artists like Bonnie Raitt and Nina Simone — Maya de Vitry’s music invites listeners into a space of openness and connection.
Openers: Upright bassist Shelby Means, originally from Wyoming and former member of Grammy Nominated Bluegrass band Della Mae, and Joel Timmons of Charleston, SC Roots rock band Sol Driven Train may be remembered by Pinedale locals as Sally & George. Returning as solo artists and preforming as backing band to Soundcheck's headliner Maya De Vitry.
Sweet Megg began her career performing in dingy bars, coffee shops, and DIY loft venues of the East Village and Brooklyn. At 22, she moved to Paris to study jazz vocals, gigging across the city before returning to New York to spend a decade as a full-time jazz vocalist, steeped in the traditions of early jazz and blues.
Opener Jackson Holte is a singer-songwriter based in Livingston, MT. His first solo record, Sky Blues, is an account of a decade spent packing into the backcountry of the Northern Rockies.
For the past decade, Tylor & the Train Robbers have been blazing trails, carving a path through the heartland with their roots country and Americana music. With boots worn thin from relentless touring, they've crisscrossed the country, honing their craft and delivering electrifying performances, leaving a trail of devoted fans in their wake. Brothers Tylor Ketchum, Jason Bushman, and Tommy Bushman form the core of this musical powerhouse.
Opener Austin based band the Lonesome Heroes is a returning Pinedale favorite band started by Rich Russell. Since forming, The Lonesome Heroes have released five full length albums and have played over 1000 shows across America and Australia. Russell writes regularly with friends in Austin and across the country. His co-writes include a long list of songwriters such as: Johann Wagner, Ron Scott, Gregory Alan Isakov, Landry McMeans, Longriver, Jake Klar, Elam Blackman, Brianna Straut, Ryan Joesph, Georgia Parker, Cara Alboucq, William Wallace, Ben Gallaway, and Hayden Butler.
Jamgrass, newgrass, funkgrass, whatever you want to call it— Armchair Boogie is rapidly becoming one of the country’s hottest acts. With an unbounded sound, this Wisconsin-based quartet is known for their powerful harmonies, timeless originals, and choice covers, along with unforgettable live performances. Listed as a “Must-See Roots Artists at Bourbon & Beyond'' by The Bluegrass Situation who wrote, “We recently caught this jammy Wisconsin outfit at Earl Scruggs Music Festival, where they burnt down their late-night set.”
Opener: Maddie and Megan have been making music together since ages six and eight, respectively. Raised on the Colorado folk and bluegrass scene—with encouragement from their dad, who often played guitar around the house and was the original bass player in the band—festivals like RockyGrass were high notes amidst a lifelong musical awakening filled with live performances, songwriting, and travel. With Maddie on banjo, Megan on mandolin, and both women trading turns on the guitar, the Cody Sisters built a following quite early for their resonant harmonies and meticulous instrumental chops.
