Each year, the Pinedale Fine Arts Council works closely with both Sublette County School Districts to present highly educational, hands-on learning experience via our artist-in-residency program. These programs may consist of a simple one-day writing exercise featuring a prominent Wyoming writer, a band workshop or it may involve a multi-week long poetry residency. Our goal is to give every student in Sublette County 2 exposures to the arts per year – with at least one being a hands-on experience. This goal has driven us to reach every student in Sublette County and give them opportunities to create art.
Our week-long school residencies include:
Dancers' Workshop has offered excellence in the art of dance to the state of Wyoming through education and performance since 1971. Today Dancers' Workshop reaches 350 young students, approximately 125 adults and more than 20,000.
Eurekus is a result of artists, scientists and educators working together to enrich learning. We partner with NASA to design innovative education and outreach programs. Our programs explore content through imagination while encouraging inquiry and collaboration. Projects will include LED terrariums, atmospheric lanterns, shoebox Mars rovers, skitter critters and Racer Chasers (popsicle stick car with remote controlled motor circuits.
VISUAL ARTS RESIDENCIES
Each year PFAC works with school art instructors to bring in a visiting artist for a week-long, hands-on visual arts residency which culminates with an art reception showcasing student work.
MISSOULA CHILDREN'S THEATER
The Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT), the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre, has been touring extensively for nearly 50 years now from Montana to Japan, and will visit nearly 1,100 communities this year with up to 44 teams of Tour Actor/Directors.

This program features a 75-minute version of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, including costumes, sets, and theatrical lighting. Post-show discussion with the actors and optional workshops in Stage Combat, Performing Shakespeare's Text, Technical Theatre and Developing Character through Improvisation follow the performance.
Art Fitness is an innovative art-education program that provides local students the opportunity to learn the skills they need to grasp contemporary art concepts and to flex their art muscles at museums and private collections everywhere.
